Teenage years spent playing numerous and varied sports meant Claire was no stranger to the world of injury and rehabilitation. After visiting a local osteopath and noticing a significant improvement in symptoms after just one appointment, Claire felt she had found a treatment that was unique to other treatment modalities. She quickly decided that osteopathy would help make a difference to others in need, something she is truly passionate about. Claire qualified as an Osteopath in 2008 and is fully registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and a member of the Institute of Osteopathy (iO).
Claire treats structural problems in patients of all ages, from manual workers, office professionals, pregnant women, children, athletes and weekend warriors. Over the last decade, she has treated people for a wide variety of conditions, including back and neck pain, repetitive strain injury, ailments in pregnancy, postural problems caused by driving or work strain, the pain of arthritis and sports injuries to name a few.
With a desire to develop her knowledge and expertise in the field of paediatrics and cranial osteopathy Claire undertook the Osteopathic Centre for Children's prestigious paediatric diploma and qualified in 2014. She underwent a further 2 years of working in the OCC's clinic voluntarily to enhance and reinforce her specialist training in treating varied paediatric presentations; from the very common to the complex. Working in two London hospitals has also allowed her to successfully treat children suffering from complications surrounding prematurity and severe disability.
Claire is passionate about health and well-being, especially that of future generations;
'I wholeheartedly believe that investing in the health of our children is central to our society’s future. After all, it is easier to build strong children than repair broken men and women. I am also passionate in helping people feel comfortable and in less pain, so they can enjoy themselves and live life to the full into their elderly years'.
Claire treats patients of all ages, from newborn infants, to patients who are 102 years old. When treating patients, Claire works with patient’s posture, symmetry and biomechanics. She prescribes correctional and rehabilitation exercises, as well as offering lifestyle and nutritional advice.
Over the last decade, Claire has worked with a number of sports teams (from local amateur to elite professional) and is qualified in various therapeutic modalities that are often used as an adjunct to osteopathy; including Dry needling, Strapping and Kinesiology Taping (K-taping).
Claire enjoys offering something back to the profession that has already given her so much and as a result, has lectured numerous times to undergraduate osteopaths.
